Alex Katz

Alex Katz came to Maine in 1949 to attend the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and in 1954 he became a summer resident of Lincolnville, Maine. In 1996 the Colby College Museum of Art opened a 10,000 square foot wing dedicated to his work, and in 2010 the Farnsworth Art Museum presented a major exhibition of Katz' new work.
