Lynne Drexler

Am. 1928-1999

Lynne Drexler was one of Monhegan's early abstract expressionist painters.  She studied with Hans Hofmann and Robert Motherwell.   Her paintings are included in the collections of the National Gallery of Art, the Portland Museum of Art and the Farnsworth Art Museum.

The Monhegan Mueum had a show of 50 of her works from July 1, 2008 to September 30, 2008 and the show moved to the Portland Museum of Art from December 6, 2008 to March 1, 2009.

An entirely new exhibition of Lynne's paintings took place during the spring and summer of 2009 at the Palmina & Stephen Pace Gallery of Art at Fryeburg Academy.

We are very pleased to offer the following four works from Lynne Drexler's estate and several from private collections.  The two watercolors are believed to be the only Drexler watercolors in existence.  Please click here to view a number of additional works that are not for sale.
