Sadly, Lonnie Sisson passed away on August 7, 2015. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Sisson moved to Boothbay Harbor, Maine in 1949 when he was 21 years old. His art career flourished during his many years along the coast of Maine which was the subject matter for many of his paintings. He moved to New Mexico in 1979 where he began painting southwestern landscapes. His work is in the permanent collections of the Portland Museum of Art, the Farnsworth Art Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and 15 other American museums.
